Pokemon Sword and Shield

Pokémon Sword and Shield have finally been released and after a lot of controversy over the lack of a national dex, people were beginning to wonder if the games as going to be any good. Well its official, they are great, and are some of the best games in the series. The wild area gives an exciting taste of what an open world Pokémon game would feel like. The new max raid battles are an exciting way to find new Pokémon and hook up with friends and battle against a strong opponent. Through max raid battles players are exposed to the new game mechanics of dynamaxing and gigantamaxing. Dynamaxing increases the size and hp of the Pokémon as well as making its moves much stronger. In contrast, gigantamaxing changes the Pokémons appearance and gives the Pokémon an exclusive move as well as doing everything dynamaxing does. The best part of the games are the new Pokémon that were introduced. In the Galor region, the Poké dex consist of 400 Pokémon, the majority of which are fan favorites. Sprinkled throughout the dexs are about 80 new Pokémon. In addition to the regular content, Pokémon Sword and Shield will also have DLC that will be released in two parts. The first part is The Isle of Armor, which is set to be released June 2020. The second part is The Crown Tundra, and is set to be released Fall 2020. Both parts will introduce a variety of old Pokémon that previously were unobtainable in Galar along with some new, never before seen Pokémon. The DLC will also introduce a new area that the player can explore, much like the Wild area in the main games.
